Jan 11th Genesis 32-34
There's a whole lot of wrestling going on. Wrestling with the past: how will my brother respond? No small question and Jacob has a lot to lose.
Wrestling with God. I think anyone who wrestles with God will walk away with a limp. Until you have one you'll walk with some misplaced arrogance that will be anything but a blessing to people around. Better a limp from God than being undefeated with others.
Wrestling with the future. The world can step into ours and rape our sister, literally or figuratively or both. With no justice system at their disposal they acted different than we would. Genesis 34:23 demonstrates Hamor and Shechem actual intent and it's anything but benevolent.
Maybe you have some good wrestling stories. Maybe you need some? We all should have one with God. When you come up limping, you'll know you are getting somewhere.
