Philippians I could use something great this morning!

December 11th, Philippians

       A great promise: 1:6 He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

       A great prayer: 1:9-11 Abounding love, knowledge to approve what is excellent and be pure and blameless.

       A great privilege: 1:29 Believe in Christ AND suffer for Him.

       A great role model: 2:3-11 Having the mind of Christ who, though God, became a servant

       A great calling: 2:14-16 Shine like stars in a crooked and twisted world

       A great gain: 3:7-10 Gains are counted solely in Jesus and by no other measuring stick. "that I may know Him and the power of his resurrection and may share in his sufferings."

       A great mistake: 3:18 Paul says with tears, many walk as enemies of the cross. Set your eyes on your citizenship in heaven.

       A great reminder: 4:6 Don't be anxious about anything, but make your requests known to  God and live as people of faith(trust). Whom shall I fear.

       A great verse to commit to memory: 4:8 "Finally brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." If you struggle with getting your thoughts stuck on anything but the above you need a verse to get you back on track. Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. If your stuck on something that isn't true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy, keep repeating this verse in your head until you can think about such things. We fixate on much that is not from God. Make a new choice and live in the prayer from 1:9-11

       Another great promise: 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
